ALO-CD has been distributing free and open source software for Finish users since 2008. Now its collection is available in English as well. VALO-CD is a project that distributes free and open source software. A single CD with selected best in class application makes it easy for any user to enjoy the advantages of free software on Windows.
Now in addition to the exiting Finish language edition it is available in English too. This is the first official international version of VALO-CD. You can find out more about the CD and download it at www.valo-cd.net.
All VALO-CD programs run out the Windows operating system. Most of the application have GNU/Linux support which makes it easy for VALO-CD users to switch between operating system with seamless workflow and flawless interoperability. The purpose of the project is to make free and open source software more widely known.
It is collection of the best programs most desktop users would need. Especially useful is Libreoffice: a productivity suite suite containing word processing spreadsheet and other office application.
VALO-CD also contains detailed user guide to make it easier to get started. The manuals are written by the FLOSS Manual documentation community. “Our aim is to make it easy for the users to get into open source software. Even manuals themselves are written collaboratively and distributed freely “ says Tomi Toivio the administrator of the Finish language FLOSS Manuals.
